We are Ana & Alessandro. We founded Carissimo Letterpress in 2014 to share our love of exclusive papers, typography and exquisite printing techniques. We specialize in high-end wedding invitations and event stationery. We deeply believe in the beauty and art of paper as a means of communication and celebration of important life events.

Our story

We met in Milan, Italy over a decade ago while studying graphic design and fashion design at renown Italian universities. Our professional experiences include working for several graphic design agencies in Milan and designing jewellery and accessories for fashion brand Marni. After 4 years we packed our bags and took off on a travel year that brought us as far as Australia and New Zealand. We returned to Europe with our minds full of ideas and inspirations. We knew we wanted to draw, we wanted to work with our hands and we wanted to focus on traditional, timeless fonts and paper goods.

After deciding to create our base in Vienna we started assembling our studio. We have found our antique machines somewhere between the south of Italy, the Swiss mountains and down-town Vienna. They all come from a time of artisan making, real handcraft and full-on steel power. Each of them has her own story and is lovingly named by us.

Why letterpress?

We love the moment when our clients hold their print products and feel the print with their fingers. We have always been drawn to tangible goods and to antique craftsmanship because we feel these products sincerely touch people’s hearts.

In the last years we have designed invitations, event stationery, business cards, post cards, notebooks, brand identities and special designs for national & international clients. We are now focusing on a limited amount of custom projects per year to fully dedicate our time to.
